First Asian-American lead family on Disney Channel

It's about time! I'm so glad this show adds onto much needed Asian representation on TV in general.

TV casting actually has improved a lot over the last decade... it's feature films that need the most work in that area. It pisses me off when Hollywood pats itself on the back for diversity when the odds of an Asian American winning an Oscar is not much better than winning Powerball. I'm not saying there should be nominees every year but it would be nice if there was a 5% chance... something roughly in line with the population base.

Yeah besides Fresh off the Boat (which is awesome), and some show by Margaret Cho that lasted like a month, there have been NO Asian families on TV.

Now we have Andi, which is a really good and cute show, and aimed at kids to make the much-needed casting have even more impact. A+

Why is it that when people say Asian they mean a person from the far east coast of Asia?

Asia is a large continent. It includes India, Russia, Suadi Arabia, the UAE as well as many other countries. But when someone says Asian, no one thinks they mean someone from India or Russia or Saudi Arabia.
