I like this series

As noted elsewhere this is undemanding afternoon TV - enjoy it for what it is. It makes no sense to condemn it for failing to be dark, gritty and/or cutting edge when it's clearly designed to be watched with a cup of tea and a biccie in an hours worth of quiet time.

I like it too. It is as good as Midsomer Murders and better than Vera. I can fall asleep to this show and finish it when I wake up. I find it an easy watch. I like Clara Goose and Matt Bartow together. I don't really care if it is full of cliches. I am enjoying it very much. Also I am sick of gritty, violent murder shows, so this is like a nice bit of fresh air. Love the scenery too. I hope they make a 2nd series of it. Also I guess it is on during the day in the UK? I think it is more than good enough to run as a night time show.

I can't believe you said that. This is one of the worst shows I have ever watched. Anyone who can stay awake watching this borefest deserves a medal.

That is why they make a thing called a channel changer. To each his own...

agree completely with you! i like the easy watch procedural as it is, its nice not to have all the violence that seems to permeate most tv shows these days. i also have recently started watching doc martin and love that as well. have just finished unforgotten and found that to be absolutely brilliant! no one does shows like this better than the brits :-)

Thanks! The other guy thinks we are bonkers. This is why there is so many of these types of shows and choice. To each his own.

I liked the show too . Great scenery as well .

Each to his own , I enjoy the show and the scenery even if some dismiss it as lightweight. You entire viewing rota doesn't have to be deep meaningful and dark 24/7

Besides always liked Claire Goose since Waking the Dead so she definitely an added bonus

I'm enjoying this series as well (currently airing in Australia). It is light and old-fashioned; can't believe it was made in 2015. I compare it to Murder in Suburbia or Rosemary & Thyme; light-hearted murder who-dunnit, put your feet up, relax with a cuppa, don't think too hard, simple storylines, beautiful scenery and so on. I do agree with someone else here who remarked on the lead character's dowdy hair styling; maybe no budget for hairstyler?

I've seen Claire coming out of her dressing room trailer at 7:30 in the morning with her hair in rollers heading for the catering truck for breakfast while on location and no, I didn't take any photos. I think I can safely say that her hairstyle is all her own, how many women do you know who go to the hairdresser every morning. I know this because my son was a member of the crew and as he hasn't yet passed his driving test I gave him lifts to the various location unit bases. Claire and the rest of the cast and crew are a pleasant and friendly bunch of people.

Great afternoon viewing. The plots aren't bad, nice characters, pretty decent cast and cracking scenery - it's no GOT or TWD but it has its own style and place in my opinion.

(It's definitely not better than Vera)

'Snarky Yarbles' great name !!
