This would have been a good show if

"What." had never happened. I was so excited to watch this but man it just wasn't good, and I think the reason is that Bo's last show was one of the greatest performances that I've ever seen, in general. He sat the bar unrealistically high with "what.", making us expect another groundbreaking stand-up and instead getting something...else. I rated this show a 7/10 because I have a lot of respect for Bo's originality but if I was to be true to my taste I would give it a 5.

I understand and even somewhat agree with your opinion. I enjoyed them but in different ways. "What," was certainly funnier to me where I really found myself cracking up. And I did laugh throughout, "Make Happy," to be sure, but it wasn't as constant. This doesn't necessarily hinder the show, they're just different and offering up different ideas/thoughts/themes so the shows will be constructed differently.

I think it's easy to be disappointed by a lot of his stuff, actually, if you're going in expecting nothing, but straight up comedy. Overall though, I enjoyed MH quite a lot and you also got to remember that, "What," was pretty much the first time he had that kind of precision and production with any of shows, right? So, it really was all a surprise and something we weren't used to, but now we know what it's going to be like going in and perhaps that could affect the way someone sees it as well.

I prefer to just view them standing on their own because comparing them is kind of fruitless and takes time away from me rewatching them . Even if someone likes MH substantially less, I think they'd still agree it's better than most out there. I don't know, would you say that?

Anyways, just my 2 cents.

It was more a performance art mixed with stand-up.

I am of the opposite opinion. I've watched "what." years ago and found it funny, but I found "Make Happy" absolutely perfect and hilarious. I decided to watch "what." again afterwards and was disappointed. I don't find it anywhere near as funny and clever as the new show. Different opinion
