They aside, the movie doesn't look that interesting. But they might just make it worth watching.

Actually it's a very interesting story and the Cult of Personality angle is quite timeless. Most successful modern dictators were or are quite a bit like Joe Hunt, poor boys desperate to be accepted by their "betters" and determined to bend others to their will using the things they had at their disposal that others lacked: charisma and a knack for spotting weaknesses that could be turned into their own strengths.
