I am enjoying this too.

It doesn't really have "whiny" characters too much. A lot more mystery. Sure, it may be a little low budgety with some common tropes, but so far, no fillers! When I see no fillers, even though it's been only three episodes (on TV), that's a plus in what I look for in storytelling. The plot moves on, while we get to learn more about the characters per episode.

Hopefully, not so much on the romance department. Romance stuff really drag long series. I'd rather not see that too much.

Edit: I'd also have to say, I definitely enjoy this more than Avatar, the awful movie, where it takes one guy's soul, and sends it into an artificial body on another planet. (Or, other past better movies where they involved guys getting sent to "other worlds", learn how to fight, and suddenly come back to the exact same time + spot that they left it at.) However, this series does give me that manga-vibe of every character being sent to "another world". Usually, it involves the entire person though. Not a character stuck in a coma.

Too many tv shows use romance as a crutch.

i saw E05 as a filler, despite being the introduction to Charlie, not bored by it but didn't feel that there was any real progression

It was just okay, not bad, not great.
