The only ST series I can't revisit.

This show is one-and-done. I watch this show only because I'm a Trekkie, but the thought of sitting through these episodes more than once is something I can't do.

CBS has destroyed Star Trek. This show, and especially that horrible Picard series, are not good as ST series. No character development (unless it's Burnham), and a show that they made up and tried to squeeze in a time period that makes it difficult to explain.

I'm not even sure if this show is suppose to be canon, or a alternate "what if" series. Either way, it's decent sci-fi., and it's barely that.

Voyager brought back enough technology and information from the Delta Quadrant to make Star Trek a formidable universe for TV. CBS should've grabbed it from there and went with it.

I think they wanted to capitalize on the success of the Kelvin/Abrams series which made big dollars, so they wanted to use a Kirk-adjacent time; that way, new viewers brought over from the films would be like, "Oh, yeah! Pike! I know that guy!"

Personally, I haven't seen Discovery or Picard, partly because I've heard mostly negative or "meh" reviews.

I agree. I forced myself to sit through the first season of Discovery, but I gave up. Same for the first few episodes of Picard.

The problem is Abrams Trek, which is just as shitty in all regards: Abrams doesn't understand Star Trek, but he loves Star Wars, and so he brought that into the world of Trek, and in doing so, changed the Trek landscape forever for the worse. And some newer generations or previously-casual or previously-ignorant of the franchise think this is how Trek SHOULD be, and disregard all that came before.

Thanks for nothing, Abrams, and no thanks to you for continuing the complete shitshow shitstorm, Kurtzman!

I personally can't visit it the first time.

I dont stream so I watched all of s1 and 2 on DVD (bought s1 fairly cheap off eBay but s2 I actually bought in a supermarket near full price) but no desire to rewatch any of the eps even the Cage sequel one ..in fact that episode 'jumped' abit on my DVD so after I watched the rest of the eps I took the set back to the store and tried to get a refund,. But unfortunately they made me have a replacement but I was like no just give me vouchers I dont mind and they were no you have to have a replacement if theres still some available..so a worker went to see if they still had some left and unfortunate they did otherwise I could've had vouchers and paid for my groceries with it

S3 its a case of fool me once, shame on you. fool me again and.. I can't get fooled again! no way be buying s3 especially not after seeing snippets and clips all over SM, so it not only looks lame and woke as hell I feel as though seen it all already (don't think SM was as heavy with the spoilers for s1/2 unless I avoided looking more so not to spoil when eventually saw on DVD .. by s3 I didnt care anymore)

With Picard obviously going to get the blu as even though everyone saying it as bad as Discovery its still Patrick fucking Stewart back in Star Trek in what is basically a big budget extended sequel to Nemesis (and ST09) which I NEVER thought would happen

reply

Ah, man! It sucks that you didn’t get the vouchers. :(

reply

yes really wanted to get the money back or vouchers but nah I had to have the set again. still have it unopened cellophane, should've sold it on ebay straight away but couldn't be bothered

reply

Agreed!

I watch it, but lose more and more interest in it. And I definitely will not rewatch it.

I never understood the decision to make it a prequel to the original series. With too advanced technology and weird looking Klingons. I actually like their look in general, but it just didn’t fit in the timeline just 10 years before Captain Kirk. If it was set from the beginning 900 years into the future, I could buy that Klingons evolved.

They should have set it in the time after the Voyager, I totally agree!

Only smart thing they did is to jump time 900 years into the future this season.

Same ... I gave up during season 2. It just doesnt feel like Star Trek. Like you said the writers only care about Burnham. I do not feel a Team spirit in that show. In the original shows , we got familiar with the entire team and each member had a couple of episode to shine and develop as characters but in this .. I have no idea who these people are....If they died I would feel nothing because we know them so very little. I hate this is what Star Trek as turned into. It's depressing.

I like all trek I only started seeing this the other month but really like it I am now the middle of season 2.
