shareIt looks like I, Daniel Blake is initially being screened at only 7 Cineworld cinemas across the country on its release this Friday and outside of London, all of these venues appear to be either in Scotland or the north of England. That's very disappointing but not at all surprising for anyone who still bothers to frequent Cineworld.
However, BBC Films is a co-producer so at least we should all get the chance to see it on the small screen in HD quality, hopefully next year.
It has also just been announced that Ken Loach's film company will receive a BAFTA Scotland award for outstanding contribution to film in Glasgow next month:

ShowFilmFirst had a big push on free screenings all across the country before it was released. Maybe that impacted which cinemas it actually opened in?
