LOL! You’ve got to be kidding me. Wayans now quitting the show.

So after Fox caved to Wayans, and fired Crawford - who wanted to stay - after Wayans got his way, and after Wayans blasted Crawford online....now he decides to quit? I wonder how all those people are feeling who sided with Wayans in the cast. Now thanks to him, they’re all out of a job. Was it worth it? Was it worth not defending Crawford? Was it worth having all those people losing their jobs because they defended Crawford (not just people on the crew, for which like 100 people were let go, but also a few of the cast who were fired for siding with Crawford)? It’s more clear than ever now, they fired the wrong guy. Crawford was telling the truth. Wayans didn’t want to be there and hated the show. And now because of him there is no way the show can continue. Bravo!

Sure, they got another season out of it. But with Crawford (and Riggs gone), and now Damon wanting to leave, he’s basically ensured the show is cancelled. At least if Crawford stayed and Damon was fired, the show could have continued. Crawford carried the freaking show. Riggs IS the “Lethal Weapon”. Wayans really brought nothing to the role. And from all the stories that came out after Crawford was fired, it was pretty evident that Wayans was lazy, hated the show and didn’t want to be there, and pulled diva moves like not showing up for work, refusing to do stunts or other scenes, and basically phoning it in. Wayans could have easily been replaced. I doubt many would have missed his Murtaugh. But Crawford? There is no show without Riggs. Way to go Damon, your diva attitude and shitty behaviour and hate for work, just lost hundreds of people their jobs. He’s probably laughing about his underhanded work, and costing everyone their jobs. They should have sided with Crawford. LOL. Karma’s a bitch....for everyone who didn’t side with Crawford. They got the wrong guy fired.

Wonder if Fox will somehow try to salvage this now, and reach out to Crawford and BEG him to come back.

reply

they should make a movie out of this mess. wtf?

reply

The ratings must be in the gutter for him to jump ship so abruptly.

reply

Surprisingly, the numbers aren’t horrible. They’re still below what previous seasons brought in, but not horrible.

The fact that Wayans is a diva though, made sure to get Crawford fired because he hated being upstaged and everyone praising Crawford, refused to do stunts, threatened lawsuits if Crawford didn’t get fired because Damon got a scratch during an accident, was just overall difficult on set and to deal with, etc. Fox executives are probably pissed off right now. They chose to side with Damon, just because he was the bigger name - after he bullied Crawford online, made sure to make him look like the bad guy, got other people fired who defended Crawford. Like this is just ridiculous.

The only move Fox has now, is to either just cancel the show (which apparently makes them a lot of money because it’s huge overseas and costs little to produce)....or seriously BEG Crawford to come back, and like do full page ad apologies to Crawford for putting him through this crap, having his personal character assasinated by Wayans and just their piss poor handling of the situation. Not mention giving all those people they fired because of Damon their jobs back. Not just those actors who are out of a job because they defended Crawford, but all those crew members (over 100) who lost their jobs for the same reason.

I gave up on the show after they fired Crawford, but they could probably come up with some excuse to bring him back. Say that they put him in witness protection, that he didn’t really die, etc. They’ve pulled crap like that on other shows, although not as high profile as Crawford’s firing. But at least with Crawford back, they could continue the show. Without him, just cancel it. The show isn’t Lethal Weapon without Riggs...he is the lethal weapon. Without both characters? What’s even the point?

I’d seriously laugh so hard though if Fox BEGGED Crawford to come back. Could you just imagine the looks on everyone’s faces? Especially Damon. He thinks he won.

It's hard being an actor

reply

They should bring back Jet Li or Joe Pesci and do it like that. Maybe Chris Rock?

reply

Jet Li’s health is failing, have you seen him lately? He looks nothing like he did before. Not sure about the other actors. Don’t know if Chris Rock would want to do tv again. And I don’t think Pesci ever did tv, he’s a movie actor. Might not want to do tv, especially one like Lethal Weapon. A lot of movie actors are drawn to networks like HBO or Netflix, not sure if network tv would even be appealing to most. It would have to be a really appealing case.

reply

Yes that's very true. I wasn't really being serious.

reply

You right on everything. Best let it die and do LW5 with Mel and Danny. Maybe give Clayne as cameo in the movie as some younger cop Riggs&Murtagh ask directions but he messes up and Murtagh is like 'I'm gonna get that guy fired' lol

reply

Yup. Either just cancel the show, or literally BEG Crawford to come back. There’s no other way the show will survive. The sad thing is, I think Crawford might even take the job back, if they begged him. He loved the show, cast and crew, and wanted to see it continue. The fact so many people defended him and lost their jobs because of it showed the friendships he had. But it might also be a sore subject for him to come back. Especially having to work with people who didn’t defend him or have his back, or who sided with Wayans. Simply put, they fired the wrong man. Wayans hated the show and wanted it canceled. Crawford wanted to see it go on. It could easily do 5 or more seasons with him. I don’t know if Crawford would come back, after the way he was treated, and the character assasination he had to endure from Wayans.

reply

Probably only the higher ups had control over who got fired, not the people in the trenches, so I wouldn't blame them. Apparently a lot of people were supportive of Crawford and lost their jobs for it.

However, no Riggs, no show. With the wrong guy getting fired, I couldn't be paid enough to watch pussy diva Wayans, even though I like Sean William Scott.

reply

Actual news was...that Crawford was a pain in the ass to work with. Even the directors stated it.

reply

It's pretty clear Wayans went out of his way to torpedo this show. Crazy. He must have really hated it. Can't imagine anybody ever hiring his lunatic ass again. If I was the show runners i'd hire back Crawford and get a new Murtaugh and pretend this season never happened.

reply

Agreed. Bring back Crawford and recast Murtaugh and don't make a big deal about it. Let's face it, Wayans was replaceable from day one.

reply

This didn't age well. Clearly the director hated how Crawford was behind the scenes. Including others.
