I never actively watched the show but this really surprised me. Clayne is great in the role, the article reads like he off camera took on the role as Riggs. Firing him seems really harsh, considering the second incident was not even his fault.

Did he and Wayans have a spat? This whole thing is suspicious.

Seems like TV shows are making an issue of establishing Hand lately. Stars big and small get cut now. They're putting an end to actor power.

They're mentioned in the linked article. The first one differs with every source, but is focused around allegations of anger over working conditions and emotional abuse on set. The second is to do with an actor being injured in a special effect gone wrong incident during an episode which Clayne himself directed and took responsibility for.

I find Damon Wayans very hard to watch in anything and wasn't opimistic that I would even see out the end of the first season, but Clayne Crawford made the show, without him it'll be nothing.

I'm not a fan of Rigg's due to his being written wrongly but they can't ditch the actor and expect to get away with it.

Particularly since he's fessed up to the charges and they seem thin.

Paper thin.

I don't see them introducing a new character.Riggs and Murtaugh are the iconic Lethal weapon characters fans of the franchise come to watch.Not Murtaugh and some other random dude who no one knows.No Riggs means no show.

Urrgh. That would be horrendous. A fresh out of the academy, little emo shit who thinks he knows best. No thanks.

Riggs needs to be somewhat of a seasoned officer, not a newbie.

The show is done I think. They would have to recast and I really don't think it would work. A shame. It could have been solid with a little more effort on developing Riggs.

I gather they have already approached a few people who have said no. I wonder who.

So who do we think could replace Crawford then?

I've been thinking about it, and I think that maybe an unknown would be best. I am not opposed to them replacing the actor, I mean soap operas have done it for years.

I totally agree with you that they need Riggs. I don't want a newbie cop, I don't want a female. I'd much rather it be cancelled.

I am curious though what the real issue is with Crawford. What has been publicized could be worked around I would think. Especially for the second highest rated show on Fox. So it must be pretty bad.

Yeah. No chance they will get an A list actor. Just someone who is a bit desperate. Someone that is willing to jump on a very likely sinking ship.

The whole situation is a bit strange. Kevin Rahm abruptly leaving like that. You would think everyone would just try and patch things up and wind in the dickish behavior to keep the show alive and keep making everyone money.

Crawford said on the Drinkin' Bros. podcast that he has yet to receive a formal call that he has been fired from the Fox drama. "I just didn't think they were going to get rid of me, I guess," he said, according to TV Guide. "And if they did, I thought they'd give me a buzz... just a jangle? Just grab two cans and a string and just be like, 'You're not coming back. We feel like this is the Damon Wayans Show and people just don't like you. So go the f*ck back to Alabama you dumb hick, thanks for playing.'" Crawford said that when news of his on-set clashes first broke, Warner Bros. TV president Peter Roth urged him to apologize publicly to Wayans after he issued a statement apologizing for his bad behavior. Crawford also said that he was being blackmailed with tapes of him calling Wayans the "biggest crybaby p*ssy" and yelling at kids while filming -- tapes that were later published by Variety. "I knew that they were going to release these tapes because they'd been blackmailing me with them for months and months and months, the entire second season," Crawford said. "And I have all the text messages from these people and voicemails from these people saying, 'Obviously you're not the problem, but you've got to get ahead of this because you know they're going to use those tapes against you.'"
