Most BBC and ITV shows are marketed these days in the markets outside the UK, especially the US, Canada and Australia.

But for this new BBC experiment of a show--the first major drama the new online-only BBC3 has shown, this show isn't even being shown or aired on TV in the UK much less the U.S.

This entirely new model the BBC has now tried producing an online only on BBC iplayer...means it's hard to predict how or if they'll market it outside the UK as they do shows that actually are shown on television.

It'll be wait and see for this one...how will BBC3 market all these new online-only shows they are now producing?

Time will tell.

@Chantico667
I am watching the show here in the US in glorious 720P HD. If you can not figure out how to do this, then you are more than 10 years behind the times.
I suggest you ask any 6th grader for help.

REMEMBER: X265 may not play on 2+ year old "player" / set-top boxes (roku, wdtv, ect. )

How very hospitable of you. Some of us don't have any 6 yr olds hanging around and since I'm 67...don't think I'll be "finding" one.Is it REALLY too taxing to simply tell those of us SO much stupider than YOU..how one can access this program?

reply

You'll need to use a proxy, to fake that you are inside UK.
The easiest way is to install "Hola!" extension in Chrome, click on it, set it to mimic "United Kingdom" and then go into the BBC player, and it should work fine.

More than that I can't help, since if it doesn't work it's all a bunch of situational problems.

Streaming box running Kodi. Full UK original version - no butchering.

I'm 51 and was able to figure it out, even without a 6 year old. Being older is no excuse to avoid keeping up with technology. My mother is in her 70s and runs the website for her city arts council.

And don't get pissy with people who don't answer you in detail. Those of us who spend time googling and learning are a bit resentful of people who waltz in and demand to have the world spoonfed to them. It's not hard to look things up and actually learn something. If you aren't capable of even trying to type the words "watch Thirteen online for free" into a search engine (or even better yet "streaming video options" so you could learn even more), you might want to stick to ABC on primetime. Besides, the legality of online streaming is in a grey area for users. Handing out primers on how to do it can be a bit risky.

And, most of all, yes it really is too taxing to have to constantly do the work for people who are selfish and lazy. It gets tedious after a while. As your friends likely told you when you were in college: "Take your own damned notes."

I can only imagine the self-righteousness you feel, and all the snippy replies you'll want to make. Stop for a moment, though, and look in a mirror. How many times every day do you ask for things that you could do yourself? How many times do you just expect other people to provide you with information because you don't feel like looking it up? I'm betting it's a lot, and that you never even think about it. You're the person with a watch on your wrist who always asks others "what time is it?" It's no big deal to you. But the one who constantly has to stop what they are doing in order to coddle you thinks it's a big deal indeed.

It's actually being aired on BBC2 after the initial showing online on BBC3 - that's how I found it.

I also believe it's due on BBC America soon (says so on their website but just "Coming in 2016", no date as yet)

reply

Thanks! I thought it was only BBC3, which is how I watch it.

Oh no. Not the dreaded BBCAmerica content butcher job down to 41 minutes from the BBC standard 56-59?

Argh.
