Anyone read the books?

Just started the show. Had been recording it but finally found some time to binge. I'm thinking of checking out the book series. Any good? I try not to be too anal when it comes to tv series taking liberties w/books as long as it's not too egregious or as long as it doesn't change the basic premise. How does the show match up?

Im gonna cut this wire&leave the bldg. Then&only then are you going to stand up. Am I clear?- Mrs S

I am curious about this as well. The Cedar Cove series was absolutely nothing like the books and it would be interesting to know if this series is the same, or if they're trying to follow the books closer.

Yes I read the series. So far I am seeing things that were definitely in the book and things that just work to make it a television series. I am one who never reads a book before a movie comes out as I don't generally care if there are differences. I just want to be entertained. I am enjoying this series. It is testing my memory quite a bit as the first book in the series came out 7 years ago.

Could you spoil the custody battle for me, curious how it played out. Maybe spoilers blocks or a spoiler warning.

The books are better. I think they are trying to shove several books into the least amount of episodes l, which is causing it not to mesh so well....
I think they did change some of their personalities for more drama and a longer show.

I'm also curious as to how the show lines up with the novels. I may have to read them during the hiatus just to find out.

You can see my above response regarding how the books line up with the series. There are 13 books in the series.
