Glad to see Israeli director support boycott of Israel

I understand there must be a lot of personal, social and political pressure on any every Israeli film director (and other arts professionals) to remain quiet about their government's oppressive policies towards the Palestinians, so was really pleased to read the comments from Udi Aloni...

The 56-year-old called Israel a "democracy of white people" and criticised German chancellor Angela Merkel’s support for Israel, saying: "Merkel does not mention the occupation and sells submarines to Netanyahu to continue such things."

Makes me want to see Junction 48. And I hope he inspires other Israelis to take such a position.

He's technically incorrect when he calls it a "democracy of white people". Most Israeli Jews are not white, they're brown.

Give me the ball.
