Magnificently filmed

I agree. Great locations and great cinematography. My favorite part is the scenery and costume.

I agree that the filming, FX, costumes, and set decorations are gorgeous. They're the main things that keep me watching.

However, I'm surprised that the producers seem to have gone cheap on the crowd scenes and the scenes downstairs. In the crowd scenes (such as the dedication of the monument in ep. 3), you can tell that they were trying to get by with just a handful of people. Likewise, the scenes in the servants' areas give the impression that only five or six servants were running the entire Palace.
