So is Albert an Alpha or Beta male?

I think both? He marries knowing he will always be subordinate to the Queen of England, yet he knows he must be master of his house.

reply

He must be a beta because he didn't get angry when he found Victoria practicing "birth control." Every day he's told he must impregnate the queen, wouldn't he be pissed off?

reply

I believe that he understood her reasons for not wanting to become pregnant at the time. So no, he didn't get angry. And if that makes him a beta male, please give me one!

So, he's just being realistic then?

reply

Lol why does it matter? And by definition of today all men at that time were alpha males in a way.

He's a Beta in the show. He was an Alpha in real life. And the best consort, male or female that any British monarch ever had. Victoria was wildly unpopular when they got married due to her pettiness and political bias and he helped make her into a very popular sovereign, even though he was hated himself his entire time in England due to being a German and a Coburg.

That being said, he had some serious flaws. He always seemed to resent being a nobody from a small duchy in the German confederation and tried to isolate Victoria from her own family members not from Coburg. He supported Prussia's expansionism and influenced Victoria to feel the same way, which is what led to the German Empire and WW1 and WW2.

Prussia got away with annexing Hanover in 1866 in large part because Victoria has been poisoned against her own House of Hanover due to Albert's influence. Britain and Victoria really sold out their ancestral Hanoverian domains.
