Important film

Saw this film at the Hot Docs film festival in Toronto. It is a hard hitting, gut wrenching film to watch but a necessary film to make the world aware of what's going on under the shadow of Australia. My only constructive criticism of the film is that it does not make clear the perspective of the local island populations as well as why some people revert to immigrate via boat as refugees vs other channels of immigration to Australia. I think I know the answer about the latter but the film leaves this aspect silent and should be explained. In any event, there is obviously something wrong going on at Nauru and Manus when people are reverting to self harm and Australia does not permit media to visit these detention centres nor allow whistleblowers on the inside to share their experiences. Hopefully, this film will inspire quick change for the better.
