Filmed in HD?

I've been watching all the Christmas movies on both Hallmark channels, and while predictable and cheaply done, I look forward to them every year. They're a ""feel good" go-to for me. Some I really roll my eyes at, some I watch over and over. Still, I watch ALL.

The glut of new ones this year are pretty much standard fare: same story, new settings, some new actors. The ice sculpting one being one of the exceptions. Interesting, and I actually learned something.

As to this movie...I liked it, loved the Art....but does anyone else think it looked "different "? The filming quality I guess. I don't know how else to put it. I liked all the actors in this one, and was glad to see Ms Law in another Christmas movie. However, it didn't appear, to me anyway, that this one came across as being in HD. I've watched it twice, on 2 different televisions, and it looks like a "regular" movie......no hi def.

It's almost as if they filmed it with that "soft" touch look, esp on the faces....like days of old when certain actress's demanded being filmed with a soft filter kinda quality. The whole movie looks like that, but is most noticeable on facials close ups. I notice this most with Ms Law, as in Snow Bride, she has a ton of freckles....which give her already pretty appearance an even prettier one. Not so in this one. The lack of freckles just made her have that soft, dewy look, that all the others have, Donna Mills especially. I've not seen Law in anything other than the 2 Hallmark movies, so idk if her looks concerning that have changed?

Maybe it just wasn't filmed in HD? Which would be odd, as the rest seem to be, even the older ones.

Sorry for the long post on such a trivial opinion. Wishing everyone a great Holiday weekend.

No opinion on the subject of HD, and I didn't see any technical specs listed other than "color". As to appearances, I read on Katrina Law's page here that while her year of birth is listed as being 1985, apparently it is actually 1978, so she is 7 years older than listed. I see that Donna Mills would have been about 74 years old when this was filmed, and her appearance appears to have been surgically changed.

Thx for the reply. I didn't know that about Law's age.....makes sense tho, I never thought she was 30. Guess it's kinda standard for actresses to fudge their age. As for Donna Mills, I knew her age, and after watching this, it looked like she had facial work done and was also botoxed.

Still, as I said, the movie doesn't come across as HD to me. That's just my opinion. Maybe it's all in my head, or maybe it was just filmed differently to compliment Mills, and possibly Law.

In any event, I guess I'm spoiled with the advent of hi def, as this one was a chore to watch. It was distracting the whole time. So trivial, I know. I just wondered if anyone else noticed the same thing.

Again, thx for replying, all your info, and I corrected the mistake you caught 😉 Happy Holidays.

Ha, I came on here looking for some info, a review, something to help me decide if I should record this one (holiday movie) or not, and I found your post instead. I already have so many movies recorded - I'm quite fond of the "feel good" aspect they bring forth in me, as well. Didn't find much info, not even a plot summary, but your post has me intrigued, so I am going to record it. Whether I finish it or not is to be determined. And, I know what you mean by the soft filter in "days of old". Doris Day used it to hide her freckles, and there has been speculation, on here, IMBD, that Andie MacDowell utilizes a soft filter on Cedar Cove (in days of new:0).

I have noticed a marked improved production quality of Hallmark movies recently. I thought that this one was just that different enough from the usual formula to keep it interesting.

I did not notice anything "Weird".
