Cute movie, but whoever was in charge of makeup

I thought this was a cute movie - not the best, but very enjoyable. I love Danica McKellar, think she's lovely, but whoever was in charge of the makeup for this movie, needs a slap with a wet noodle.
Danica's fake eyelashes were driving me nuts the entire movie!!! I understand that eyes may get lost in pictures if they don't use false eyelashes, but these were way oversized - too long and too thick. The rest of the makeup was done well.

Couldn't agree more. It looked like some caterpillars from Teddy's mommy's greenhouse took up permanent residence on Allie's eyelids!! Horrendously distracting, and a little too much eyeshadow in reality for a maid or a governess (contrast that with the sister's understated makeup - and she was a burgeoning actress).

I agree. That caked on overly done eye makeup was distracting.

How about the mismatched lipstick color for the red dress, over-done eyebrows, the off-balance/lop-sided hair styles, plus the too-small sweaters and ill-fitting grey skirt? And this was all for the leading lady.

reply

Too-small sweaters aren't necessarily a bad thing.

A leading lady playing a rather poor young woman who was probably wearing clothes from her college days.

So glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. I thought maybe they were the height of glamor and I was just out of step, lol.
