I mean, from the trailer, the story this movie is based off of, and James Franco's interviews, you should've known this movie would have gay sex. The problem is is that this movie has TOO much gay sex and the sex is so graphic it's just excessive and not needed. I'd say the same if the sex was straight.

Well I thought having Ringwald and Silverstone in the movie, would make it watchable, but instead this appears to be a movie for old washed up Hollywood celebs trying to make a buck.

I agree, the movie was unpleasant. But I give credit to Christian slater, taking on a role like this. It's called acting, and any serious actor will take any role, the more challenging the better. He turned in a great, sleazebag performance, and was utterly convincing. That translates to good acting. On a side note, i do not find Alicia Silverstone to be an "old washed up celeb.." She looks great and she was extremely good in this. i don't understand why she doesn't get roles anymore..

I read that her OLDER BROTHER was arrested a while back for some stupid marijuana growing charge; no information on the actress ever being "arrested" for anything. It sounds like you have her confused with another actress, Reese Witherspoon; and that actress has been nominated for an Acadamy Award and I'm sure her career is just fine. But the comment was about Alicia Silverstone.

You are correct, it was Witherspoon. I wouldn't put too much credibility in Academy Awards, especially since none of the Black actors in "Straight Outta Compton" received any nomination, but many of the
White producers, directors and crew members did.
Believe me I know; I think the Academy and everything connected to it is a pathetic, corrupt joke. And those awards never seem to help anyone's career. I was just using that as an example of Witherspoon being respected as a serious actress. I'm glad that Alicia Silverstone wasn't really arrested; she seems like a genuinely sweet person..and she still looks great, and she actually is talented. I just can't see her as "old and washed up," but I know Hollywood works like that. These actresses seem to vanish overnight, as soon as they reach a certain age. For instance where is Nicole Kidman? A few years ago she was all over the place. Now she seems to have vanished from the Earth. I wish Tom Cruise would vanish like that!
