Modern Accents

Okay, this was a very good documentary/film, but one thing I noticed that annoyed me to an extreme were some of the accents. For example, the pregant woman was speaking in a California uptalk type accent which you never heard in Austin back in the day. They could've hired a voice actress with a Texas accent. People just didn't talk that way back then. Of course, nowadays, that's all you hear around Austin. I think the California uptalk is the most obnoxious, smug accent I have ever heard. It's like when they're talking, they sound like they're asking a question. I want to throat punch people when I hear them speaking that way. Other than the annoying accents, the movie was really good. My dad was a student at UT when that happened. He was walking along the drag when the shooting started and ran & hid in a store. I remember him telling us that story way back in the early 80s when we were younger.
