Wickedness

Even when we believe ourselves to be 'saved' we are vulnerable. This may be a good study of this. All we are is weak human beings; stained by the original sin. We try, but we are never going to become perfect in this life.

reply

Original sin isn't real, it's a tool to control the sheep.

this is an op board and the op has a right to express their views if you have trouble being tolerant to other people it dosnt speak well of you so maybe you should refrain from having contact with people whos beliefes and views differ from yours.

reply

The board is for everybody commenting. If you open a thread you are aware other people may differ with your opinion. If we don't believe in an original sin we can say so.

reply

Get a grip will you?

reply

Have you been reading some of my posts about tolerance and trying to parody them? Sadly that would only work if I was being intolerant. As it happens I'm allowed an opinion as well as the person I replied to. Guess who the bigot is (clue, it's not me it's you).

reply

Any religion, not only original sin-based, can only cause wars and havock. The film clealry shows very religious people cant't tell right from wrong.

This is a message board relating to this tv show, please tell your bible story elsewhere!

reply

please take your intolerant and hatefull remarks elsewhere and let the grownups have an open discussion without you displaying your narrow minded attitude.

reply

Ironic that you say you'd like an open discussion and dismiss someone as being childlike for not agreeing with you. So typical of what is often found on social media (especially by religious people / apologists) these days: "I'm offended by your opinion, now I will respond in an emotional way and try to shut down debate." Quite simply, your emotions do not equate to FACTS. What is the world coming to when you can't express an opinion without being 'whined down' or as increasingly seems to be the case, getting arrested? It's scary how accurate Orwell got it! Thought Police listening to Cry Babies too much! (Hateful only has one 'l' by the way.)

"I have so many objections I don't know where to start"

reply

It's far more hateful to say that everyone is stained with sin at birth.

He murdered two people in cold blood in order to get some money to invest in his dental practice. After succeeding in making the murders look like a double suicide, he went on to pose as a God-fearing family man while molesting his female patients! Then when he loses his ill-gotten gains in a stupid investment gone wrong, he confesses, in the process ratting out the ex-girlfriend who'd been covering for him over the years. I think the scientific term for what's wrong with him would be antisocial personality disorder (which I believe is the current diagnostic term for what used to be called a psychopath) but I would also call him the scum of the earth and a waste of skin.

reply

Exactly.

reply

Was there really any need to spoil this for the rest of us by revealing details of episodes 2, 3, and 4 before they aired?

I think my percentage of Chimp DNA is higher than others. Cleaver Greene

reply

sluggr-2, if you're foolish enough to read these message boards before watching the show, how can you expect not to see spoilers?!

Frankly, I have my doubts about the chimp DNA of yours! 🐵

How did you manage to come up with that? The murders had NOTHING to do with money. The money was something that collaterally happened. They killed for love (lust?) that his god told them was his plan for them. Also, he didn't "rat out" his girlfriend. He merely told the whole truth about both of their parts in the murders. The show was a further story about the use of the "Joint Enterprise" charge in the UK which has changed the whole concept of 'accomplice'.

The "stupid investment" AND his loss of his son convinced him that his god had punished him and had finally shown His disapproval of their actions. Without that approval, in his screwed-up mind, he could no longer live with what they had done. At that point, he had nothing left to do but to tell every bit of his wrongdoings. He even confessed to sexual abuse of sedated patients with which he hadn't even been charged.

reply

You're talking twaddle.

this thread proves how we are still lousy humans :/

Oh dear all this religious gobbledegook.
