Is the hiatus over yet? LOL

I don't have much to say except I miss this show immensely and can't wait until February! 9 months and counting ugghhhh

reply

Right?! I'm there with ya...hiatuses are a bitch, but I can't wait to see where this show goes next.

reply

And it sucks that cable shows take such a long hiatus vs network tv. I'm so curious to see what happens in S2 and I really really hope it's comparable to last season.

reply

Well, for a while that's cause they had shorter seasons (which I think is better anyways), but they also tend to be of better quality as well, haha...cause they take that time! They usually have their scripts all done or almost done by production, networks don't.

So, I'm okay with the wait because of the above. It's a nicer trade off in the end! But the impatient, greedy baby part of me wants it now, now, now!! πŸ˜‰

I have faith S2 will be up to the par with S1, they've got a good, solid group there. In the mean time just rewatch S1 and pretend it's all new, lol. Do you need a mind parasite to come and alter/erase some memories there for you?!

reply

Yeah I forgot the seasons are short too, between that and a year hiatus I can't take it lol
I have a lot of unanswered questions about season 1 so I hope they are answered next year.
Yes please send a mind parasite to erase my S1 memories. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ LOL

reply

What are your questions? I'm just curious to know cause it's quite the Pandora's box, this show!

And alright, I'll call my buddy Lenny up and see what she can do for ya....πŸ˜›

reply

Eeeeek Lenny!! 😱😱 haha

I have so many questions lol You probably know all of the answers ☺️

Where are David's adoptive parents?

I would like more backstory of Oliver,
Melanie and their powers or how Syd came to be a patient at the hospital.

Where's the psychiatrist?

Why do they keep switching up the time periods? Is it the 60's or the 90's etc.

Is that enough questions? Haha

reply

I would've thought you would have more with this crazy show!

David's Parents:
In the show we don't know where they are. I'm sure comic book fans know, but I don't read that nor do I think the show is beholden to it so moving on...all we know is the exposition David gave us in his mind classroom in Ep. 7. We're not really supposed to know much about them right now, I'd assume that's something that will be revealed over time. So, I wouldn't worry too much about that being a loose end for now.

I'd like more backstory on the others, and I think Hawley has said we'll get that. It is only the first season, so now that they know what kinda show they are and who their characters are they should be able to start fleshing out this world more. I'm sure we'll learn more about them as well as David as the story goes on.

The Psychiatrist:
Kissinger you mean? The last we saw him was in D3's containment cell, right? The one that was next to Amy's? We all noted how weird he was in that scene. Was it The Eye disguised? Was Kissinger working for D3? Had they converted him as an informant? Something broke in him a little, I don't know how terribly important he'll be to the overall story really, but I'd wager we'll see him again maybe.

Time Periods:
This is something that's been asked a lot throughout the fan community, from my observations. The time ambiguity is purposeful. We're not meant to be able to place it. This puts us more in the POV of David's whose worldview is skewed and tilted. In order to make it seem out of place or timeless they just mish mash a bunch of different ones together so we can never quite know, exactly when this is. I wouldn't get hung up on trying to place it or of knowing for sure because it's more an artistic storytelling technique than anything else.

That's the best I've got!

reply

lol that's all I could think of because I'm already forgetting every detail of season 1.

I think they mentioned the adopted dad had visited David in the hospital but not the mom.
I really thought that David had killed his mom when he was younger because of that horrible book about chopping her head off.

Yeah Kissinger, (I told you I was forgetting stuff already lol ) I know he's not super important but his last scene was odd. Maybe it was the eye.

I'm worried David is imagining some things because of differing time periods.
And Amy wasn't in the finale at all so I wonder where she is.

reply

Oh, I'm sorry, my mind totally farted and I was talking about his biological parents, lol. He said his dad died while he was in hospital and a lot of people have theorized that David may have accidentally killed his mom, thus creating the World's Angrist Boy proxy....like you said basically!

I think the one thing people should keep in mind about this show is that David is a highly unreliable narrator. His reality is ever-changing, and wonky, and not straight. Some of it is his head, but what's in his head can also be made real (from what I've learned) so it gets messy real quick, haha. I would just say stay vigilant when getting information from him.

And Amy's absence was weird, especially after what she just went through and for someone who's very important to David. I agree that her not being in the finale seems pretty telling about something. Or...we're over-reading, hah!

reply

Hahaha it's ok! I still understood what you meant though lol
I'm almost afraid to rewatch the series so I don't have more questions 😱

reply

Pssh, I welcome the questions! I'm glad to just have some activity here again ☺

reply

I'm glad you can answer my questions!
It's nice to have a place to talk about the show πŸ˜€
