I'm up to episode 4, and it's descended into a circus, a merry-go-round of one wanky hipster scene after another.
"oh look, it's a dream within a dream" ... yawn
"oh look, nothing is what is seems".... yawn.
"oh look, someone got shot, but it wasn't really them because this TV show does whatever it wants and is really stupid"... yawn.
I seem to have liked the show a bit more than you have...but I do agree: it was 90% style and 10% substance, and over the course of its run that began to bother more and more. I'm pretty sure I won't be tuning in for the second season.
shareI agree with the style over substance thing. However, sometimes style is exactly what you want. It's all about our disposition, I guess.

I am quite certain it has its fans. The production is crammed with a lot to take in. It has style... I wanted to like it and honestly thought I would. But it just pushed me away, alienated me, to the point I felt angry and so I wrote the OP.
Your opinion is just as valid as mine, and that's why they make chocolate and vanilla (and sometimes strawberry).
