Calling David's name...
We hear a female voice saying David's name on a few occasions. It sounds to me, like someone trying to wake him up. When did that start to happen, because I can't remember exactly?
shareThe whole, "David, wake up!" Is Syd, I believe. We also hear his mother's voice a couple times saying things like, "oh my boy...my beautiful boy."
The mom thing was right in episode 1, if I remember correctly, and I don't think the," wake up," stuff was on much longer after that. Maybe 2nd episode? I'm not entirely sure, but considering there are only 5 episodes so far and we've heard it couple times it has to have been happening early.
p.s. is it just me or do they say his name A WHOLE LOT?! At first it was amusingly irritating, but now I'm wondering if it's done for a more deliberate purpose. I mean, he's the main character, I get they have to use his name, but damn...it feels like, "David," is said 100 times per episode :p If you took shots you'd be wasted by the end of one!
I didn't mean the actual "David, wake up", but just a voice saying his name "David, David...", *like* when someone calls your name to wake you up. But now I'm thinking that never happened? Did it happen? My memory is terrible sometimes :D And in case it didn't happen, thanks for the clarification :)
I haven't noticed his name being said that much. But I can also watch a show for years and not know what half the characters are called so... It's like I have name blindness or something.
Well, to me his name is said a lot haha so it's a bit hard to pin point which instance is which...I'm pretty sure what you're talking about was his mom as well. Her voice always seems to be overlayed throughout the episodes. She seems to maybe be one of the only people David ever felt real love and acceptance with....until or unless he killed her, maybe :o
I'm the opposite of you where I remember names quite well, but I also have a fascination with them so it's a fun thing for me to know character names. It's hard to follow a lot on this show though!
It might be David's mom, yes. But I'm looking for clues anywhere I can find them haha
I'm like that with names IRL as well. I guess my mind doesn't find them that important :D
Clues for what exactly? I think it is a clue in that it points to another aspect of his mind reaching out and something that seems important to him or that has stuck with him all this time. Other than that, I don't know what else it would point to, curious what you think!
shareWe hear all sorts of voices and sounds overlayed throuought. But this one struck me a being a bit different. And from what I remember, afrer we hear that "David" there is an, sort of abrumt stop to the sounds and music. So what I'm thinking is, maybe it's someone from the real world trying to wake David up, and that's being incorporated into the not-real world, if we're still inside his head. Like when noices from your surroundings are incorporated into your dreams. So maybe it can serve to orientate us in where we are. It's just a thought I had. That's why I asked when we hear it first, to see if it is what I thought it was.
I hope this makes some sort of sense, because I couldn't formulate my thoughts properly on this one :D And as I said, I'm going off on memory here, and it's all a bit jumbled by this point.
You don't remember any specific scenes you recall it from? That would help, haha, because like you said there are so many damn sounds! The only time I remember a disembodied voice saying his name last episode was from Melanie before we realized she was talking to him telepathically, but that goes pretty quick.
The only other times I can recall are the ones I've mentioned from Syd and his mother. Other than that nothing comes to mind, ah! How frustrating you are 'Legion' lol! I think anyone watching this show is a bit jumbled at this point....
I went through the episodes, and now I can't find it. So it's probably Syd or him mom. God damnit, this show's making me question my own reality :D

Not a waste of my time, I enjoy talking about the show either way...I can rewatch this show forever and probably still not pick up on stuff. A show about insanity is sure doing a good job of making all of us insane in the process ;)
