Oh Please

I knew I'd come here to find praise and awe in the majority of comments. Just knew it. Me? I'd rather chew a handful of splintered glass, swallow it, and wash it down with a mixture of gas and sour milk than watch this again. I waited and waited...for that Aha ! That's brilliant ! moment and despite my "art appreciation" hat , it never came. Maybe in a play...

Despite agreeing with just about every critisism I've read about this film I still really, really enjoyed it. I think I just love the chaos of the whole thing. None of makes any damned sense.

This is how I feel about the film ABee.

Despite its flaws and heavy-handedness, it's a very visceral film and a large part of it comes from that chaotic tracking sequence where Jennifer Lawrence is wondering through her house as it gradually turns into something out of Apocalypse Now.

I saw it at the cinema and it certainly caught my attention throughout (although I remember a guy leaving the theatre loudly saying "what the hell was that s**t?", which is one of the most extreme audience responses I've ever encountered at a theatre, especially an arthouse one), although I'm not sure I'd have been as impressed if I'd first seen it via streaming/TV.

I saw it on my TV. I would have loved to have seen it in the theatre though

I need to see it again. I've only seen it once, on the big screen, but in my experience seeing a film on the big screen spoils one, in the sense that it's far and away the best way to see a feature film, particularly one from a challenging and interesting filmmaker like Darren Aronofsky, but it also means that unless you re-watch the film at the theatre, none of one's subsequent viewings are going to be as good.

Yeah they're are plenty of negative comments here about this movie. It's a pretty polarizing film but overall I liked the vibe the movie gave off throughout. Even though I didn't understand that I was watching a biblical allegory at the time, it had a Rosemary's Baby feel of uneasiness to it that never let up and I really liked the experience.
