I wouldn't even have taken payment for writing a good review for THIS movie.
Basically, this premise has been done over and over and over. That's one reason for people disliking it. They know the reality of life and this unrealistic plot doesn't attract the audience anymore.
Second, zero chemistry. Just physical grinding and that's all. As it has a probable PG-rating and this is India, SEX is taboo. If they would have shown full-blown sex I'd have been heartily interested. But there is that half-arsed kissing and cut to the sky or ceiling shots when the sex begins. I mean, dikhana hai toh theek se dikhao R-rating k saath.
Third, WAY OVER THE TOP ACTING by Ranveer Singh, and I know Ranveer can act. I've seen it in Lootera. Seeing him do this is just such a waste of talent. On the flip side, Vaani looks like she is clearly bored with it.
All in all, nothing can stop something from being good, if it is really good. No paid bad reviews or angry fan-boys can have such an effect. Clearly this has none of them going for it. Like you said that some scenes were unnecessary and the ending was crap then how can the overall movie be good?
