Kind of creepy and weird *spoilers*

This story was all over the place, like some kind of hokey Made-for-TV movie cage fight. Suggesting that a fifteen year old who goes out and gets drunk, mouths off to her father, loses her virginity to someone she isn't even really dating, ends up pregnant, goes all mopey and emo, and at one point leaves home to 'crash' at this guy's home, where she is so easily led that she gets convinced to have an abortion... ::gasp for breath:: Suggesting that this dippy twat's life is 1) normal 2) going to even remotely turn out well, and 3) not overrun with creeps and jerks is absurd. That kid needed to be protective custody and given a pretty thorough mental eval. She's a bleeding nut bag.

All of the parents aren't much better. Were the Cahill family supposed to be villains? Because from my point of view, it looks like they were trying to not be run over by some random loser fifteen-year old with some type of epic personality disorder.

Were we supposed to have empathy towards Mr I Kinda Look Like Patrick Swayze and his Bad Life Choices, Ho! daughter? Both of them came off as titanic train wrecks. She decides to lose her virginity while in her cups...and her father 'ruins' that marvellous plan by codependently caring (way, way, WAY too deeply and weirdly). Then Dad lies to police, manhandles a high school senior, can't hold up at work, and apparently has major issues over his dead wife cheating on him.

...did I mention that this plot is all over the place?

Everyone in this town is dysfunctional, mentally ill, melodramatic, myopic...and PROUD OF IT. And suggesting that this baby is going to be born into anything but the equivalent of a mental hospital is ridiculous.

The whole thing made my brain hurt.

Haven't watched the movie yet but have seen the commercial so many times that I already can't stand the daughter!!

It's not your average salacious LMN movie. Boring !

It's a terrible movie. None of the characters are likeable, and the story isn't particularly interesting. It's also an awful title. The daughter is an ungrateful little bitch, definitely not the "perfect daughter."
