I think the lead is really ugly...

It takes me out of the storyline. Because no guy would ever want to do anything with her

reply

You are an idiot. She is an amazing actress

reply

Erm... OP was talking about looks, not acting abilities, you troll.

As I grow older, I pay less attention to what people post, I just watch their avatars.

reply

The only time she was ugly was when she had the blonde wig and blue contacts in. She is a beautiful woman. Maybe you need to adjust your narrow view instead of condemning anyone that doesn't fit your simpleton standards.

If Lena Dunham can play lead and pull hotties any woman can.

reply

She looks like an alien! Your telling me that you'll do Anything with her!? I'm not that desperate

reply

Maybe just a Z job.

Lena Dunham writes and directs her own show so of course she'll hire guys WAY above her status. She's not pulling anyone unless they're chasing her fame or fat chicks.

reply

A tactic used by male directors since the beginning of film. More power to Ms. Dunham and I hope to see much more of this trend in the future.

reply

I can see why I barely laughed throughout all 6 episodes

reply

you shouldn't watch tv/movies for shallow reasons. it is entertainment. she is funny-looking, but the show is hilarious.

reply

You don't know what ugly is. I'll make it easy for you. Go look in the mirror. Now you know.

reply

Funny, I've seen your posts before. All your posts suck and you're a troll. You're like an angry 10 years old in all the threads you post in. You've been an IMDB member for 11 years now? Wow. That means you're a pathetic ADULT. That's really sad.

Funny you wrote that considering she has lips a lot people pay money for; an eye shape many people envy and clear beautiful skin - beauty products cannot produce. Not to mention, she looks ageless and very fresh-faced and is so damn talented. I can't think of any comedians in her age bracket who can challenge her skills (she is also the writer on the show).

Just because she does not meet your standard of beauty does not mean she isn't beautiful. You do seem as though you hate yourself anyway so a comment such as the one you wrote does not surprise me at all.

reply

Lol surely you mean shape of her lips and not colour. Funny no mention of her nose.

I'll never understand why people like you defend the looks of ugly strange looking people just because you enjoy their shows.

It's television... not a beauty pageant.

I hate mean people and I hate being mean but I kind of have to agree. Her face, though unique, really takes me out of the show. I try to put myself in the shoes of someone who would want to hit it and I can't. She's got a really nice body and obviously a good actress. But those wide set eyes and the face ??. With all of the beautiful black actresses out there, why her? It probably didn't help that they put that stupid wig and contacts on her making her look like a tranny alien. At least she looks much better when she dresses plainly.

reply

she's the writer and creator of the show. it is inspired by her own play. https://www.amazon.com/Chewing-Dreams-Oberon-Modern-Plays-ebook/dp/B00CMQXO94

reply

I have to agree. It pulls me away from the story. I hate making fun of how people look, but Jesus Christ she is HIDEOUS.

Methinks either you are trolling (& it's working!) -OR- you don't realize when you're being put-on. The actress, the camera angles and lenses are being used, in concert, to exaggerate her features and expressions.

Also, I think she's ridiculously attractive, but IMHO a good sense of humor helps a lot too!
