These kids are TERRIBLE!

I've yet to be impressed.

I am sorry that they have yet to impress you with their perfectly sewn outfits, their meeting of all the deadlines and their very creative ideas. They will have to work a little harder to rise up to your standards. The judges seem pretty impressed including the editor of Cosmopolitan and Seventeen magazine. I truly believe she is not that easily impressed and she was crying tonight when she had to eliminate someone. Keep your janky comments to yourself or watch another show.

I am very impressed! I normally do not care much for children's shows/competitions but I am enjoying this one! They are all so talented and the runway shows are impressive, IMO.

reply

Totally agree. I'm the same way about kids crap but this show is actually good and these kids are extremely talented!

I also agree.

Although as I said in another thread, I felt many of the styles were too old looking, many were very well-sewn, and very creative--I was impressed. Compared to a lot of the adult designers in past PR shows, they could fit right in and beat out a lot of them.

I was not impressed either, a ton of the stuff they make is just copying what's already been done or what's on stores... Like when i was in art school and just copied Disney Characters... Or anime from the 70's

Examples, one girl did a jacket with a diagonal zipper when zipped up turned into a slouchy turtle neck... Saw that at the mall several times... Yet she got praised like she invented bread....

A team challenge... 2 girls made a mini dress with a short train... Last PR season Edmond did the exact same thing... Girls get praised as if they invented the wheel...

Then the Butchy Girl who makes men's clothes... They are nicely made, fit for a girl body.... But there's people wearing that belt thing that hangs like a penis on the front... Nothing new... And that Shirt Dress, Done in the 70's early 80's and is hanging at your Local Target....

And don't get me started on the "old soul, mature for his age"

I think they show promise, present sophisticated technical skill which comes with practice, I think they are overly praised...

I'll concede that their sewing skills are impressive, and just their ability to withstand the pressure is admirable.

The actual designs though range from Okay to Terrible.

A couple of the kids ended up with collections that topped many of the adult PR contestants.
