Ugh. Tim Gunn WASTED his Tim Gunn SAVE on A'kai, in my opinion. He is an awful designer and can't sew to save his life. I can't stand the way he talks and is constantly crying and wiping his eyes with his sleeves, either. Way too early in the season to save anyone, much less A'kai. Tim wasted his save on Cornelius last season on Project Runway, and he wasted it on A'Kai this week. Do better, Tim!
shareYeah I agree. It's wild that Tim saved him. He is so bad and has no talent. And his crying is annoying. I'm always cool with people showing emotions but he's gone overboard.
He's at puberty stage and his hormones must be playing games on him. And the voice. Crackling.
He could also do with a change of clothes. The ones he wears are so big on him and he's always pulling at the sleeves to wipe his eyes and nose. Maybe as he matures he will blossom into a good designer but he is a long way off.
If I was his partner I'd be frustrated and angry.
I feel bad for the really talented kids.
I know what you all are saying, but I was glad he did. I want to see more of A'kai.
By the way, the Save isn't really helping anyone. Let's say Tim used it on someone w/more talent, well in the end, one person wins. In the past, there wasn't a such thing as a Save, so we can all think of this as a non-elimination round.
Tim Gunn almost always uses the save for emotional reasons. Remember Charqita (sp), deserved to be eliminated due to her awful design but Tim liked her (she was a nice person) so she was saved. He felt sorry for Cornelius, so saved. The only time I can remember him using the save to actually save a designer that didn't deserve to go home was Edmund a couple of seasons ago, and that was at final four. I think they should just get rid of it.

Exactly, I would think the save should be reserved for truly talented designers who deserve a second chance. Instead it is used as a tool to create unnecessary drama. Tim and TPTB are not using it well at all and it results in subpar designers staying and more talented designers not getting a second chance later in the season.

OH MY GOSH yes I agree totally, wtf was he thinking?!! A'Kai is one of the most annoying , talentless , unbelievably aggravating designers I've ever seen on this show. Sorry to be harsh but can't think of any other way to say it.

Ahhh this is the second time he's used it... In the past he just used is as a way to send 4 people in the finale... The first time he used it was with the def guy...

Akai wasn't bullied. He seemed unable to even do half of the outfit and what he did do was sloppy. The point of a team challenge is to work with someone else (just like the real world) or failing that, make your addition good enough to pass and he did neither.

He said he would've saved Hawwaa too if she had been the one eliminated. I don't know what he's thinking. Chelsea seemed annoyed by the save as well like he can't save anyone anymore who might deserve it more.

I think Tim saved him to get the save off the table. Now the rest of them won't be hoping that Tim will save them.
shareI totally called it, he's always wasting his save on some of those worst designers(or ones that clearly deserve to go home). He needs to have that power taken away from him. I think there was only one time he got it right.
