Ordinary folks can waste their time on this, but I’m well educated and quite frankly this film is beneath me.

So let me get this straight, a super hero movie isn't "high brow" enough for you? Not many probably are, since most of them are made for escapism and pure fun. Simply put, none of it is War And Peace. If Tolstoy is your cup then Lee is likely not.
Just quit watching comic book movies then. That will solve your angst.
