Did the Quantum Realm save... (end credit spoiler)

Scott from being ashed ? Or if the Infinity Stones had selected him to go too would he have still got ashed in the QR?

reply

The QR is still in the Universe so I'd say he would've been ashed if he was meant to be ashed.

I think it saved him, they wouldn't have shown the scene at all if he still turned to ash vs being stuck in the Quantum Realm.

Just saw this film tonight, and it felt to me that the end scene was done the way it was because Scott is going to end up being instrumental in bringing down Thanos. I could be way off base, of course.

Also I just rewatched it, Janet warns him to beware of Time portals if he is in there too long. I think that's what will happen. He will pop out somewhere else.

And possibly somewhen else! Good catch, I didn't notice that!

I suspect the QR saves you, because there appears to be a lot more to it than simply being small.

In the comics, they call it the Microverse which is basically just a microscopic world comprised of trillions of atoms. In the MCU, they changed it to being full-blown subatomic, which could mean an entire realm smaller than a single atom. You can't really have structures like we saw in the QR if they were built out of basic subatomic particles. What they seem to be suggesting is that when you go subatomic, you enter a separate realm where rules of the normal universe do not apply. This allows the MCU to make up any rules they want for it.
