I fear for this remake, will it live up to the original? Will it be filmed more dramatically? Will it follow the book more closely?
I honestly can't say now if it's a bad idea. I'm not sure I like it, but that's because my connections to the original film are so strong, being that the original Papillon is my favourite film of all time.
I hope they don't go through with this. I can't stand it when my favorite movies are remade.

A couple of "meh" actors, and an inexperienced film director. Sounds like as good an idea as The Exorcist mini-series that Fox is putting out soon with Geena Davis. Awful idea....just awful.
shareI am not a fan of remakes either but you can't be calling Rami Malek a "meh" actor. Dude is literally one of the best I have ever seen
