Excellent, but that ending... /spoilers/

I really enjoyed this film, up until the ending. That left me scratching my head a little bit. I understood how the children were surviving, but I don't understand what it all means, thematically-wise. Is it "move away old people, it's time for the kids to take over"? If that's it, it certainly was subtle about it, even with the old couple fitting with the "message", if that's really it.

Otherwise it was an excellent, enjoyable triller, but the ending really had me going "huh!?".

This is now on Amazon Prime. Spoilers ahead, FYI.

I had never heard of it but recognized the lead actress so I figured I’d give it a shot. I enjoyed the movie to a point. Having the daughter’s illness be the catalyst for all their behaviors seemed a little disingenuous. I don’t know - kind of like, there’d be no movie without her living in a bubble. In fact, i think there’d have been a better movie if the protagonists were free to roam in the oxygen masks they find. The fog was done well and it’s a good idea for a post apocalyptic type film. Be interesting to explore the fog and how it came to be and how it affects people a year after it arrives. As for the ending, I think it was a twist. I didn’t read any big message into it. I didn’t particularly like it. It was trite. And are there that many kids living in bubbles like that all over the world?
