Oscar noms out the wazoo!!

Noinated for:

Best Picture
Best director
Best actress (Olivia Colman)
Best Supporting actress (Stone and Weisz)
Best original screenplay
Best cinematography
Best Editing
Best costume design
Best production design

All well deserved. So well deserved that IMHO the only reason it didn't have more noms was that it just didn't fit into some categories, having no Best Actor candidate or special effects. And its most direct rival, "Mary Queen of Scots", only got noms for makeup and costume design, snerk.

Ok my friend. I guess I just prefer my natural light to be Barry Lyndon style, not this, whatever this is.

Definitely think the best chance of it winning awards is in Best Actress, Best Costume, Best Production. I don't see it winning Best Director or Picture.

great film really, Coleman was excellent as always.

I want "Black Panther" to win Best Costumes, one of my few reservations about "The Favourite" is the black-and-white costumes. They liked color in the 18th century, rich colors at the time!

But I think it has a decent shot at Best Picture in a weak year, and I do hope Colman wins as she was phenomenal. Stone and Weisz will probably cancel each other out, both being nominated for Best Supporting. Production design and cinematography? Hell yeah!

I think Regina King is probably the only dead cert award for Best Supporting Actress, probably along with Best Director for Roma and maybe Bale for Best Actor for Vice.

I think Roma or A Star Is Born will win Best Picture, it's definitely a weak year for the awards. Which makes it a more open one, I hate it when it's a clear winner from the start.

Coleman has great chance, bit worried that Lady Gaga will win it (she's very good in it, but not as interesting as Coleman's turn) or Glenn Close (more for her career rather then her performance), the oscar's like to give awards to people they snubbed a few times.

Should've won best pic. Roma is the only film remotely close to competing with this one.
