Was Abigail trying to crush a rabbit to death?

That was disturbing, especially the noises the poor animal was making.

reply

No, she was just exercising her power over it and showing her true nature.

And Anne does the exact same thing to Abigail in the end, and it's sort of Sarah's revenge on Abigail in a way. Sarah had control of Anne, but Anne respected Sarah and loved her and vice versa in a way and in a way Sarah was doing right for Anne. As much Abigail tries to destroy Sarah and try to get her rank back into the high life and think's she's in control of it all, she's still the maid to Anne and that will never change. She's the rabbit. Well that's what I got out of the ending.

reply

What I got out of the end is that... for the first time in her life, Anne is in charge of her life.

She's gotten rid of the companion who's bossed her around since they were kids, and now she's wised up to the new companion, and shown her who's in charge. I doubt that was the case with the historical Queen Anne, she seems to have been pushed around and manipulated her whole life.

I don't think so. Anne is miserable, a still bright mind trapped in a body wracked by pain and ruin. Nobody ends triumphant in this one.

That scene was disturbing and I kept hiding my eyes; that poor little rabbit. I'm glad she let her go but, I think that should that Abigail was kind of evil....

reply

Now I don’t want to see this film.

reply

I heard the rabbit lives.

reply

You shouldn't. It's extremely boring.

reply

IMO, No. Moreso toying w/the idea.
