why wasnt anne able to conceive

i think she had some medical problem

reply

She got pregnant 17 times! The woman could conceive all right!

Look up the statistics, she had 17 pregnancies and only a few were born alive. None of Queen Anne's children outlived her, for all her wealth and position she really had a miserable life. It's not clear what was going wrong 17 times in a row, but my guess would be a chronic bacterial pelvic infection caused by doctors who didn't wash their hands between patients. Or maybe it was sheer bad luck, because stillbirths, miscarriages, childbed deaths, and the deaths of young children were so common back then that she probably wasn't the only woman in England to lose 17 children.

She conceived 17 times, but none of her pregnancies resulted in a child that lived beyond 2 years old, with most being stillborn.

It is thought that she had genetic conditions that contributed to ill health throughout her lifetime and her failed pregnancies.

As evidence of the genetic nature of her medical problems, none of her siblings or cousins had any surviving children, which resulted in the end of the House of Stuart.

what did they die of? maybe it was tragic luck that the ones that were born didn't survive.

I'm not really sure she was that inbred.
