Seriously 8.4 PPL..

First of all I see different language movies. I am not big fan of any actor. For me script matters.

I don't know how many years we tamilians are gonna watch our heros-foe stories. Same story with mass and sentiment is not enough. Please wakeup and dont spend 1000bucks for A movie ticket.

Coming to story, An old man got released from Malaysian jail after long time. There start a cat-rat fight between villain gang and HERO. As usual our hero is good and leader of tamil people in foreign land.

In serious round up he got shoot and escaped. He comes to know his daughter is one saved him who also gangster on her own was hired to kill him by villain. She tells her father that her mother also alive in somewhere. They leave Malaysia to find her. After series of attempts they find her and have good family reunion in Pondicherry. They are been followed by enemy gang an got attacked. They escape from there and comes to Malaysia.

But situation is got worsened in Malaysia all his people and school has been attacked.

When hero itself is worried there comes invitation to attend party which will be accomplished by villain gang. Hero goes there and soon riots breakout, he kills enemy gang with his daughter and also enemy. There is something going on police department.

He reopens bakery and school with his wife and all are good.

But there comes the boy from his school who is been brainwashed by police with gun to shoot him down. Bullets fires and blackout.

As per hero saying, tamilianku ethiri tamilians than.. ha ha..?

Melodrama with slow screen play. BGM is great. Songs and choreography not impressed. Radhika Apte comes and goes but steals with her acting and beauty. Dhansika could have chosen better movie than this just for Rajinikanth she picked this. They only concentrated Rajini and all characters seems useless there.

Overall one-time theatre watch worth for 120rs. That's all. Thalaiva give way for young People act with them even Sivaji did. Dont act like simple man try to be one.

It's 7.9 now which is still too high for this *beep* I'm a Telugu guy and all Rajni movies get dubbed here, so I do know them and also do love him. The only good things in this movie are the BGM and the acting from few of them. Some of the fans are still overrating this which is seriously stupid.

~ Go ahead, make my day.

Everybody has their tastes - you are stupid if you say your point of view the the right one and all others are stupid. So learn to respect other opinion and dont be a fool.

reply

I can sense your taste in films, rating films like Eternal sunshine and taxidriver 1s and 2s. But then its your opinion and i don't care.

Kabali i feel is a way better movie than most of Rajnikanth's recent movies. Haven't seen him perform this good since Thalapathi tbh. And imdb ratings have become a joke lately, so i believe they're not a good criteria to decide if a film is good or bad. What matters eventually is if we like the movie or not.

reply

I agree with you, most of the so called Fans are disappointed , because they were looking for a film like Batsha.Should blame the teaser for that, was very misleading.

Rajani was able to show his acting skills after a long time in this film, like you said, haven't seen like him since Thalapathi.

reply

IMDB ratings are joke??.. Its only tamil ppl overrate movie for their gods other than that IMDB is best.

Rajini only acted in movie that's wat we try to say. A movie shouldn't be one man show

reply

After a long time, there is screen space for all actors in this movie! Dinesh, Kalaiarasan have acted so well. Yes, Rajinikanth appeared throughout the movie, but it was not a one man show. The movie was not gripping, but I am very much satisfied with the movie. Sad that this movie is rated only 6.9!!!!

reply

I know everybody is entitled to their own opinion. I have reasons to rate Eternal Sunshine or Taxi Driver so low (also taking into account the current rating) but I don't see a single reason why people actually like (actually love) this film. I read some reviews which don't even look genuine, don't mention what aspect of the movie compelled them to give a freaking 9 or 10.

And yeah, his recent movies were bad as well, but this movie had pretty high expectations because of the teaser, probably the most awaited Indian movie this year despite not being a Bollywood movie. In the end, what did we get? 3 hours of going-nowhere movie (but this could just be my opinion then).

What a joke, i don't watch any south indian movies, once in a rare while a good quality south indian movie gets seen, like that one time when i was travelling on a bus. I don't watch *beep* indian movies (hindi) either, i know which ones are quality based on the actor-director-trailers-etc. But i can safely say the ratio of "decent" hindi movies is much higher than the south. Maniratnam is great, A.R. Rahman is great, Sriram Raghavan is great, no doubt, i love their work, i adore them, i respect them. But i also have no doubt that 90% south movies are not even worth enough to watch their trailers. WTF was this *beep* kabaali. I knew it would be *beep* but i invested 30 minutes watching the first 30 minutes of the movie, leaving aside all preconceived notions, wondering and debating with my views, telling myself maybeeee i'm wrong about the south industry, because if 99% of south india seems to be going crazy about this movie, there must be something good. Nyet. 101% pure idiocy. It's a joke. And i hurts me when people laugh at clips of south indian movies on youtube and think they are "indian" movies and that everyone in india makes such movies. Of course non racists will have seen other good movies and even good movies from the south by maniratnam and co. But the racist kind get ample ammunition to heartily laugh at india because these south indian movies supply it so *beep* amply, on silver platters. robot, kabaali, wtf nonsense, what wot woot!

On a related note...Radhika Apte...Singham, Kabaali. This actress is now the epitome of crass, unartistic, mediocre and *beep* cinema for me.

I'm a movie addict. Good movies calm me.

I agree. It doesn't deserve more than somewhere between 5 and 6 here. And the way the rating is dropping now (currently it's 7.1) I think son it will reach at least 6.2.
