Good Movie But... (Spoilers)

The whole federal operation angle felt like it was shoe-horned in. It could've been interesting if it had been expanded on: showing the case beforehand, showing how they had first become interested in Ashley as a possible suspect, etc. Instead, it just showed them following her and Dash (which, while hilarious was just so inept that there's no way you could buy the guy following them as a fed). Another thing that would've helped is expanding on the fact that Ashley's information had gotten stolen. Was the person who stole her identity part of the crew they were looking for? They hinted at this, but it wasn't answered. And why was the lead agent so hot to trot for the case? What was his motivation? Had he lost a partner? Did he screw up beforehand and was now trying to correct the mistake? Was he trying to move up in the Bureau? On the whole, I liked this movie. Both characters were likable and you rooted for them, but as I said, the case portion of the movie should've either been expanded on or dropped all together.

Truck or Squad. What side are you on?

I usually enjoy these Hallmark Christmas movies and I have little trouble suspending reality but this one was bad. It's only about a ten hour drive from where they started to Seattle but this ride seemed to take forever, even having to stop overnight. Also if the FBI was half as diligent in real life as they were in this movie, the San Bernadino shootings could have been prevented.

Also what the character Ashley said about the Interstate 5 Freeway (she called it Highway 5) has different names: John J. Montgomery Freeway; San Diego Freeway; Santa Ana Freeway; then finally the Golden State Freeway all in Southern California is true, never in the stretch from Mexico to Canada does it become a two lane (one way in each direction) winding mountain road. But I guess since it was filmed almost entirely outside instead of using rear screen projection, it would have been hard to do using the actual I5 Freeway. Or have the pretty scenery.

Not even close to I-5 from Sacramento up the valley. No sections of the highway are two lane (one lane each way). The city of Redding does not come close to having forested land anywhere near the city limits. Other than those minor complaints I did enjoy the movie.

Yeah, I noticed how all the Oregon towns in the Willamette Valley looked like they were in the Canadian Rockies, surrounded by snow covered peaks. And how they called Salem (the state capital) a "township".

And the trip could have been done in one day, if she hadn't wanted to stop every 10 minutes.

The screenplay for this movie is so superior to the book from which it is based.
