First time watching this

So I will preface this by saying I would/will watch this again, but more than likely only once a season. There are many Hallmark movies I watch multiple times over the course of the holiday season because I really, really enjoy them. This is good enough to watch once a year, but I don't think I could do multiple viewings in one season.

The one negative thing I can say about this is the scene when they stop at the motel for the night with the puppy. Having traveled with a pet, it can be horrendous when trying to find a motel/hotel room. Most places are NOT pet-friendly. The few that due allow them normally charge an extra fee (non-refundable per night). They also instruct that the pet should not be left unattended, but MUST be crated if the situation arises. Neither happened in this movie (and we're talking about a puppy, who are usually infamous for being "destruction on steroids").

As crazy as it sounds, motels/hotels are even less pet-friendly if you have a cat (which is what I have). Whenever I travel with Ebony I ALWAYS bring her small scratching post (has her scent on it so she uses it) and I also maintain her litter box "standard" to a higher degree than I even do here at home. I have always been thanked by housekeeping and management; they always say they never realized that there was a cat ever present in the room. The last encounter in this field was when I relocated to PA. The website for the motel said "pet-friendly", so I booked the room for a week until permanent living arrangements could be arranged. Everyday I would take Ebony down to the main floor and go outside for our walk (she's trained on a harness and a leash). We would do our daily one hour walk, go back inside and up to the third floor we went. On the fifth day, a "new" (unknown clerk) informed me that cats weren't "allowed". When I pointed out that I saw two different cats in two separate units, I was informed that they had been "grand-fathered" in. When I asked to speak to the manager she came out and told me not to worry about it; after speaking to housekeeping and physically seeing the condition of my room, she had NO concerns about allowing me to stay.

Sorry to have gone on so long about that, but that was my BIG pet-peeve (pun intended) about that scene.
