Surpassed my expectations....in short great!!

Ok. reading the reviews by The Guardian,ESPN etc. ,you're forced the idea that this is a vanity project and nothing more down your throats. However,it isn't.

1. I'm deeply surprised that none of commentaries from pundits, his current and ex-teammates ,past coaches etc. were present. Messi's movie is coming soon.Expect some glorifications made by numerous no. of players, coaches etc. This one doesn't have that.

2.This documentary does not include much of his Manchester days and even Real Madrid as you'd think because many documentaries were already made by different groups before highlighting those days. The UCL campaign was included in the main plot and his evolution as a player and his transfers etc. are unavoidable in any documentary .So,those are present as well.

3.You see lot of Mendes. But it makes sense since he's the one that really makes Ronaldo wealthy and his bond with him is stronger than anybody else in the business. Other than his family,he'd be the first one whom he'll consider as a family. So,all good.

4. No other documentary has ever shown his private life as close as this.Surely ,they missed lots from his past, like his affairs with women etc. But,as far as the present is concerned ,this looks legit. He does not go out with anyone and it's obvious he really cares about his son.

5.Watch this without a prejudice set by some rave reviews from the media and you'll enjoy it.Really, what do people expect? That his antics in the field highlighted here? It's obvious that they're going to leave the negative side right from the start. And the negative side is what most people see anyway.

It isn't as ridiculous as some papers claim to be,far from it.. When Messi movie comes, expect the ridiculous comments on his greatness and blah blah blah..and the overall theme it'll set.
This is the only documntary I have seen in which they do not include his teammates from Portugal,Man United and Madrid speaking about him.You see a small cameo from his mates back when he first joined Sporting. That's it.

I don't hate Messi. I'm not a fan either but definitely not hate him.. People think this is ridiculous but the fact is they can even make it more so by using established players, coaches, journalists etc. praising him to the moons..But we didn't see that. That's my point

Now,I've read plenty of reviews and I think most of them are biased..Like what, they criticize him looking at the mirror and the small things he did which is funny to me.This movie may not make you like the guy but at least 80% of the movie feels authentic and it's what we haven't seen before.

The real criticism I have though is that they talk about hardwork, determination etc. but never showed any of those.Maybe a view on how he trains, kicks the ball, his normal training routine etc. should've complimented the movie more.Other than that,I think it's not bad at all. In fact,I expected a soap opera of him being hailed by so and so people as the best player etc... But in this movie,it was only Mendes who happens to be his agent ,best friend and a father figure..Mendes's annoying but anybody who knows about him should know not to take evry word of him seriously..I was more curious about how a super agent like him conducts himself..The movie clearly shows Mendes could be manipulative, persuasive and all thos things which is quite good imo. They could paint Ronaldo as a very humble person and I'm not sure if people will buy that..
