Ripping-off Ira Levin's novels isn't original

Specifically Rosemary's Baby and The Stepford Wives.

Peele's next original screenplay will probably be about clones or something.

woah. And look what trailer comes out only a few days ago!

reply

Yup...

Peele is ridiculously overhyped.

reply

He could rip-off anything, as long as he utilizes a predominately black cast, it will get praised as a masterpiece. It's starting to get ridiculous.

You're telling me there were other, similar concepts that somebody else used? Shut the front door.

reply

The concepts in the movie, like in many other works, have clear influences from past sources.
But Peele’s take on those concepts, his execution are fresh.
I would say the exact same thing about Hereditary, Ari Aster’s horror film. Clearly influenced by Rosemary’s Baby. But executed memorably by a filmmaker with his own style and voice.
