Loved the movie, but not best screenplay...

This is why the Oscars is such BS.

reply

I should give this a second look - maybe I missed something

reply

No, the movie is really good, but it doesn't deserve best screenplay. Three Billboards was robbed.

reply

Even fans of the movie get it. What a load of s_t.

reply

Its not original, it's just a rip off of The Stepford Wives.

reply

It's not best anything, and certainly not best screenplay. I'm glad it didn't win much at the oscars.

I finally saw this movie on HBO. I came into it with low expectations. Which, usually when you do that, you end up pleasantly surprised. But I didn't. I don't get what the big deal is. Since Jordan Peele is half black and half white, I thought he might have an interesting perspective but this movie appears so one dimensional. It really seems like just a long episode of Black Mirror. Not really special.

reply

Well at the end of the day you can't please everyone. It doesn't make the Oscars BS it just means the people running the event judged by their own opinion as well as the movies popularity and selected it for the reward.

reply

It's all politics. Pure and simple. The best screenplay should have been given to Three Billboards or Call Me By Your Name. They are by far the best.

reply

No it's all opinion like I said.

reply

No, not everything is about opinion. I will leave it at that.

reply

In this case it is as the people in charge choose who they think deserve it based on their own thoughts as well as how the general public received over the course of a films run.

I'll leave it at that.
