Brain swop or not...

So he had the blind guys head open and ready to apparently put it in Chris' head? How was he going to keep the brain alive is my first question?

Then Why would the flash from the camera wake up the previous occupant as his brain has been removed and he is only a passenger.

That's the part of the movie that I don't think Peele ever made totally clear. Also, was is about lobotomy or hypnosis?

I'm trying to go for an engaging, funny youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance. A review of the movie here- https://youtu.be/Tb0kPow-1D4

Stop pimping your YouTube channel on here.

I took it as a partial brain transplant and that say Chris's brain might be used for the blind guy to last longer in his body unless they also want to convince themselves that there is nobody getting murdered to do what they do and that the blind guy convinced himself that he was sacrificing his own body somehow

Exactly. None of it makes sense. It was just a high concept to make a horror movie about stupid experimentation on black people and I loved the movie up until that point.

the whole brain swapping part made this into a B movie - slapstick and clearly not oscar worthy

I finally have an answer to this.

I think they use both brain surgery and hypnosis.

There’s some brain surgeries where the patient is kept sedated but conscious in order for the surgeons to monitor the patient. One patients have been reported to play the violin while in surgery.

Now the skull is opened but the movie doesn’t tell us the brain is going to be removed. Maybe a piece of the frontal lobe is cut out and replaced with the piece from the white dude.

Like inserting a usb drive or something.

This is then followed by intense hypnosis on the black dude to suppress his consciousness and activate the inserted white dude consciousness.

That’s why perhaps the camera flash triggered on the black dude at the party and the black dude at the end.

Hereby I end my dissertation of this movie, Get Out.

Actually there is one part of a movie where they explain that part of the original brain is left (like the brainstem or something) and so the old head tenant will still have some consciousness but will be restricted to observing from the sunk down weird world. Somehow the flash pulls them out of sunk down land.

You would be dead if you only had a little bit of brain left in your old body I think. I mean what would be the use for hypnosis for that little bit of brain.

I maybe wrong but it won’t work if the original brain that controls that body’s functions are removed.
