How much money changed hands to get this 100% on Rotten Tomatoes?

I don't think SJW critics had anything to do with it, because if that were the case, Hidden Figures should have gotten 100% or close too.

I think this movie is solid evidence that you should never trust critics. Something just reeks here. Get Out was just not that good at all. It's your run-of-the-mill horror movie with really bad acting.

reply

SJW movies don't get 100% scores (nor do any movies), but they sure do get better scores than average..If you ask me journalists are afraid of giving bad reviews to them. Not good fore your career.

reply

Zero dollars and zero cents.

reply

You're a MASSIVE idiot then. Just saying.

reply

No, I'm just logical.

reply

I'd have to say I'm more logical than you. Even Oscar bait like La La Land, Hidden Figures and other films don't get perfect Rotten Tomatoes ratings. This was a subpar teen horror flick. It's just a bad movie. It has numerous bad reviews from the average person who are just as confused as me. There's no way that out of 200 people or so, 10 or 20 at least didn't give it a bad review. You are not bright.

Also, I had a father who was a doctor and you wouldn't imagine the things drug reps would buy for him, from lunch for the office, dinners, trips, suite tickets for games, pens, all sorts of stuff. Even in my field, there are reps buying for me all the time.

I find it hard to believe that in an industry with only 200 or so reviews, even fewer who work for major media, that the studios aren't doing anything to buy reviews favorable for their films.

If you don't think this is happening, you're very young, sheltered, or not bright.

reply

It's not happening. You're just paranoid.

reply

Have you ever been employed in your life?

I'm going to have to say no. Wow.

reply

Yes, and I've encountered paranoid conspiracy theorists like you plenty of times.

Whether it's insane rants about movie critics taking bribes, or NASA hiding the "truth" about a flat earth, it's the same song, different verse.

reply

Not sure why I haven't blocked you yet, but on a scale of 1 to 10, how impossible is it to believe critics are being paid off?

Why do you think this is so? Because it's America? You think it's not possible for this to happen or something?

You're just a happy little lamb/sheep/prole/pawn. You better get to know some rich people before running your mouth like you know everything in life. You're making yourself look rather ignorant right now. Get a job. I'm dead serious. Get a job. Enter reality. PLEASE.

More proof you're stupid. Adam Ruins Movie Awards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhfxo8xPNGU

reply

Uh huh. And they're controlling our minds with vaccines, yada yada yada.

Ever notice that anyone who uses the "sheep" metaphor never has anything intelligent or constructive to contribute to any conversation about anything?

reply

Ratings for this movie are all over the place. TMDb users gave it 7 average. IMDb users rated it 8. Audience at Rotten Tomatoes gave it 9, and critics at Rotten Tomatoes gave it 10. So, the range is from 7 - 10.

I think critics were overly generous with this movie, I personally would give it 8.

reply

Its a decent body snatcher movie with a theme that was gauranteed to make it a hit with the SJW clique in the citics circle...

Armond White was one of the few who gave it a negative review... He had already had a falling out with the critics circle, which he chaired in the past, over what he saw as their collective cheerleadering of the industry and its movies and their group think ideology...

So, yeah.. its a good movie, gets the comedy-of-manners part right, but it isnt perfect and 100% on RT is ridiculous...

If it was a big studio movie, i'd be more inclined to think that they bought influence, wih access and such... maybe even some ad money... but its a smaller movie, so i think ideology played a bigger role...

reply

The fact that it was smaller is EXACTLY why the studio would buy great reviews for it. If you pay off the critics and/or influence them, you can create a hit for a fraction of the cost of a major blockbuster. That's of incredible benefit for a studio which may have had films underperform the previous year and need to make up some groudn.

reply

interesting take on it... clearly looking at ratings for guidence is fools game now...

Thats why its so important to have these boards... we can actually discuss a movie rather just grading it as if it were cement...

No wonder the old boards were killed

reply

I knew that movie critics were totally corrupt when Mad Max had a near perfect rating on opening day. Critics are very unforgiving to action films like that, and it honestly wasn't a great one. There were rumors of trouble on the set and you could see from the film that Hardy wasn't working out in the role, given that he seemed like a supporting character and Charlize Theron seemed to step up, rather well, into the lead over him.

You would think that after the film was such a success that another would have been made quickly but they seem to be dragging their feet. I'm convinced the studio is trying to replace Hardy but is at odds over what to do. Buying the critics off saved that film from being a total disaster.

reply

Everything you said was false.

reply

So, you're ignorant and don't even bother to do research before making ridiculous statements like this?

Proof you're wrong and why you need to stop posting any more garbage:

Just some more "conspiracy theories" for you, LOL. Ignorant kid.

reply

Oh good, the "do your research" gambit.

I'd hate to call you predictable, but...

reply

My links proved you wrong.

You've lost the argument, as well as the other lame ones you've had.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I am not an anti-vaxxer. I'm not as stupid as you.

reply

Your links were completely unrelated. You haven't proved anyone wrong about anything in your life.

It doesn't matter if you're not an anti-vaxxer, you act just like one.

reply

I'm done here. You are the biggest idiot I've ever seen, absolutely hard-headed and illiterate. I destroyed you with those links and you won't give up.

I'm done here, I can't help you. Bye. Ignored.

reply

Your links didn't address any of the issues at hand.

But go ahead and use the ignore button so you can cultivate that nice echo chamber like the snowflake you are.

reply

wow, so you are doing this in every thread you land, don't you?

reply

[deleted]

You're an idiot. The end.

reply

Learn someday or the hard way, makes no difference to me. All you're doing is telling me your age.

reply

Judging by your behavior, I'm guessing you're 16 at most.
