Doesn't make me feel uncomfortable at all bro, I just don't care much for scary movies.
The Gold Standard for Social Commentary w/ the Horror/SciFi genre IMHO were the Twilight Zones. My old man and I to this day, still love watching those and seeing the underlining social themes. Now those were subtle and brilliant. These days all horror movies are the same ole same ole.
Additionally, since we are on the topic of SC in the horror genre, how come you never see Muslim exorcists movies, or any kind of muslim haunting/ghost movies? Maybe you can answer, why are all so-called exorcist/religious themed horror movies about Christianity, and not about Muslims or Buddhists for that matter. I do think there are some out of Japan, but they don't really deal with Taoism? I maybe wrong. But look at the last two conjurings, the exorcists, umm stigmata, send me to hell, etc.etc. They are never about a Muslim family being haunted by spirits, and in the need of an Iman with his Holy Quran?
Any thoughts...
Oh and how come in most horror movies the lead antagonist is never LGBTQ, like the main evil character in any movie (if said individual is real-life or came back from the dead) they are never LGBTQ? Ever wonder that.. they are generally white, more specifically white males?
Im seriously not trolling, I just think it's poignant to the conversation.
