Was Wesley aka Gavin really 23?

I was quite amused when I read the "Goof" section. The writer surmised that Gavin was 23, therefore he was only 13 ten years ago and no way he could have killed Abbey's father. Well, I might have missed something here but there was no where in the movie stating for a fact that Gavin was 23. we gather that he was 23 from the random conversation Abbey had with her friend Janelle and of course Gavin's nickname was Gavin23 on the Chatrama which means nothing. He could be 33 or above. I thought I saw Abbey was taken aback when she first met him outside the coffee shop, she said "You look older".

Forgive my bad English, its not my language.

Agreed. I think he was only pretending to be 23 (although I didn't see the last 30 minutes or so).

reply

I am laughing at the fact that nobody caught that while making the movie.

He lied about who he was, what his name was, and lied he was a cop. You really think he told the truth about his age?

reply

She says he looks older than his picture. So he's obviously older than 23. I find it more shocking that he randomly found her on a chat room where people use nicknames.

The actor who played Gavin/Wesley is 33 in real life. If we assume he is supposed to be that age, he would have been 23 when Abbey's father was murdered.

reply

He was 26... If you watch the ending after he is killed you can hear on the radio "suspect was 26 year old male." He wanted to wait until she was 16 because that's the age he lost his father.
