Binging on Netflix

My mother tongue is English but I do understand quite a bit of Spanish so am watching this series with English subtitles. I read some of the reviews - and tend to agree. But at about episode 55 they changed the actors who portray Celia, Pedro and Mario! Correct? Did they change the actress that portrays Lola too??? I came to really love the actors up until episode 54. This will take quite an adjustment to make it through the rest of the series - another 25 episodes!
I will miss Gamaliel too😭, I was hoping that he would have survived.

Exact same situation for my mother... We are very little Spanish speaking non-Hispanic African Americans and she has been binge watching this show on Netflix for the last few weeks. I've caught glimpses but am agreeing with the reviews, even from the little I've seen it doesn't seem to have the vibe of an accurately portrayed life story. Just a lot of fictional telenovela drama. Celia deserves much better. I hope she gets a film. Oh well, my mom likes it at least.

Celia and La Lupe both deserve much better. Their depiction of Afro-Latinos is questionable.
