I second that. Boring plot, terrible acting (disappointing to see Skaarsgard & Hall stoop for this, but they gave nothing to it. Doubt they even read the script). What else was wrong? All of it, but mostly the cringey teenage sleuth subplot (they even threw in a Scooby mobile), the sugary flowery corny friendship between Kong and a little girl, and the tired old trope cliche evil corporate villain tossed into this crap stew of movie garbage. I bailed out 3/4 through so gave this worthless time-waster more of a shot than it deserved.

because you went with the wrong mindset you idiot. those movies are about the monsters. not story. even the original japanese monster movies have terrible stories. do you think anyone cares? people want to watch monsters. thats it

We've come a long way but still have a ton of work to do. Why couldn't Godzilla or Kong be a black man or a transsexual man/woman for instance? It would not have changed the plot one bit and they could have saved money using green screen and then scaling up instead of creating the creatures from complete scratch.

I agree that GvK is garbage. I saw Godzilla Minus One yesterday and it makes me so angry that $200 million was spent on this piece of crap, when Toho made a movie 100x better for a 1/10th of the cost.

The new Godzilla movie, Scream V and VI, Evil Dead Rise, Insidious: The Red Door, all show that low-budget franchise movies can look good and do well.

Well, basically there was no "VS" about it.. It was pretty much a one sided ass whipping on the part of KONG from GODZILLA in every way possible.. Hell, even I got a tear in my eye when the BIG G tried drowning KONG on that Air craft carrier transporting him.. He was completely out of his element and the only way to give him any dignity at the end was had him beat Mecha Godzilla..

not it was not.

this movie delivers at it wants to deliver, which is amazing monster scenes.

the fact that they had none of this monarch nonsense that they had king of the monsters made the movie so much better.

the movie is aware that the human characters should get less screen time and it gives you more monster scenes
