Kong does appear the bigger draw of the 2 but even putting them in the same movie I think we are a long way from 1bn - 600m perhaps, 700m if its exceptionally good.
Monster movies just dont make the big bucks - shame as I'm a sucker for them.

who saw that comin?! the team up for all the characters in one movie made audiences lose their minds maybe something similar will happen with Zilia and Kong? (most ppl wont be aware theres already been a Kong v Zilla movie or even know that Kong Skull Island was set in the same universe so when they see trailers, posters etc for GZvK they might lose their shit)
I would love to see that happen but the MCU was the exception to the rule, I'm not sure any franchise will ever repeat what they achieved.
On the flip side look at batman vs superman. Two characters far bigger than Kong or Zilla but even they couldnt get close to 1bn.
I'll be there opening weekend in a years time to do my part but I still maintain that 600m is a realistic number.
