Not Sure How Good This is Gonna Be....

Due to GKOTM which I was super hyped for but turned out not to be all that. So after waiting all this time for that only to be disappointed, then I have to worry about how this will turn out.

I'm not sure if they're supposed to fight each other or band together to fight someone else? Unlike the Japanese "King Kong vs Godzilla" I doubt 2 endings will be filmed for this with one ending favoring Kong & the other filmed for Japanese audiences favoring Godzilla.

After all, again from what I understand the main point of the movie is that they're not fighting each other to the bitter end but teaming up against something else. What say you all?

I'm still looking forward to it, and hope the poor box office showing of Godzilla, King of the Monsters doesn't affect this film's release.

Also, just FYI, there was only one version of the original King Kong vs. Godzilla. There's a famous myth about there being a second ending, but there was no such alternate ending.

I liked KotM better than expected. But I think that really put a dent in the franchise image-wise;ironically by delivering exactly what it advertised. Unless they team up to fight Mecha-Godzilla I have no idea how it'd pan out.

Love your take on it HarlemEagle, & you’re right. For all the misgivings regarding “KOTM” as you said ironically enough it delivered the goods, it did what it was supposed to do & gave us monsters in a monster movie.

As for “Kong vs Godzilla” yeah the speculation is that they’ll fight each other first, then come to sort of a truce & team up against a bigger threat.

What or who that it might be is up in the air but the money is on it being King Ghidora again. But MechaGodzilla would be a nice bone they could throw us.

Not disagreeing with you but how dumb would that be? Godzilla beats Ghidorra and Rodan by himself but needs Kong to fight him the second time they meet?

Kind of like Thor beating Loki by himself but the entire Avengers struggling with him a year later.

this is just fan speculation. they already said there'd be a clear winner.

and notice Kong isn't "King" Kong...yet. make of that what you will.

It's at least maybe is gonna be less silly than the original. Which is that a Pharmaceutical Company isn't doing well so they kidnap a giant Gorilla and allow him to wreak havok all over Japan.
